Jai Gil is a Cuban-Brazilian writer, born and raised in New York City. At the age of fifteen, he started working as a cinematographer on his first short film, Be Free, shot on location in Jerusalem, Israel. After attending America’s first public filmmaking high school at The Cinema School, Gil studied political science at Skidmore College, where he would continue to develop his voice and produce independent content. While at Skidmore, he wrote, directed, and produced several projects such as Primal, Eyes That Look Like Mine, and He Needs Me. Recently, he returned from studying at one of Europe’s leading film schools, FAMU School of the Arts in Prague, where he was selected to develop another film.
